What is the Volunteer Hub?

A space for connecting, contributing, and sharing purpose.

The Australian Psychedelic Society (APS) is a not-for-profit charity and fully volunteer-led organisation. We’re committed to ethical education, harm reduction, decriminalisation, and meaningful connection in the psychedelic space. Everything we do is powered by people—people with full and busy lives, showing up because they know how important dedicated and passionate people are to this space.

No one at APS is paid for their work (yet!) and while we dream of a future where our contributors are financially supported, we deeply value the spirit of service and shared responsibility that fuels this movement.

As APS has grown rapidly over the past few years—and continues to—we’ve recognised the need to streamline how we connect and collaborate. This platform was created to bring comfort, clarity, and transparency to the process, easing the load on our management team and ensuring you can find what you need when you need it.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do—helping us build bridges between science and spirit, activism and integration, community and ethical care. This Hub is a one-stop-shop to support you in becoming a valued part of the APS community.

The Volunteer Hub is our volunteers go-to space for all things volunteer-related at APS. Whether you're new to our network or already deeply involved, this is where you’ll:

  • Learn about current volunteer opportunities across Australia

  • Access resources, Induction and onboarding support and access our communication platforms

  • Connect easily with APS chapters, working groups, and projects

  • Stay updated on events, meetings, and community offerings

  • Share your skills, passions, and ideas to help shape the future of APS

It’s also a place to be witnessed and supported—to find roles that not only meet our organisational needs, but also align with your life, personal growth and wellbeing.

Why Volunteer with APS?

Volunteering with the Australian Psychedelic Society is more than helping out. It’s about becoming part of something bigger than yourself—a community grounded in compassion, integrity, and transformation.

It’s also an invitation to:

Grow while you give. Volunteering boosts well-being, reduces isolation, and increases life satisfaction. When you contribute to something meaningful, it changes you too.

Develop and share your skills. Whether you’re experienced or just getting started, we welcome you to bring your unique abilities—or use this space to build confidence and learn through action.

Offer what you love. If you have a skill, practice, or service you’d like to offer the Society—graphic design, facilitation, admin, photography, writing, tech, herbal knowledge, community engagement—please reach out. We’d love to hear from you.

Create real impact. Your time and energy directly support harm reduction, public education, and safe, inclusive community spaces in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Connect with aligned humans. APS is full of people who value depth, curiosity, mutual care, and the journey of healing. You’re not just volunteering—you’re finding your people.

There are many ways to support the mission of APS, whether you're offering an hour a month or building something long-term with us. Here are just some of the ways our volunteers contribute:
